The FILTRANS "International Transit Transport" Economic Public Company was created in March 1994. Its mission was to take charge of and develop the transit, transport and storage trades which were until then carried out by the Société Générale Maritime " GEMA ” its parent company. Thus, after more than twenty years of existence, FILTRANS has become a privileged partner of port authorities and a provider of choice for economic operators.
Currently, FILTRANS is among the first agency networks. Its technical know-how, its solid financial structure and its experience mean that today FILTRANS presents itself as a true professional in international transit, transport and warehousing.
The company whose head office is located at 05 Rue de Biskra Mohammadia (Ex. Lavigerie) Algiers, has a national presence in the seven most important commercial ports of the country: Algiers, Oran, Mostaganem, Annaba, Skikda, Bejaia and DjenDjen in through a network of agencies reporting hierarchically to the General Management, intervening in local operations on behalf of economic operators and having sufficient resources and autonomy to perform all the services entrusted directly by the client or through the Department of Commercial Operations.
For optimal support of operations, it has established relationships with leading international logistics operators.
FILTRANS is an approved freight forwarder in transit and transport.
It has a qualified and dedicated staff with a total workforce of 230 people, a fleet of means of transport, handling and lifting and bonded and free warehouses.
Its quality management system, certified prior to the ISO 9001 V 2008 standard, should lead to an integrated system during the year 2021 with the extension to the ISO 18001 and 45000 standards.

Legal situation
EPE FILTRANS is a joint-stock company with a capital of 400,000,000 DA, fully owned by the parent company GEMA / EPE SPA, which itself falls within the portfolio of the G.A.T.MA Group, its sole shareholder.
It is registered in the trade register and its head office is in Algiers, at 5, rue de Biskra - El Mohammedia

The FILTRANS company is broken down into various responsibility centers, departments and agencies.
In its operational relations with port authorities, economic operators and other partners, the company is organized as follows:
A- The commercial operations department
It ensures on the one hand promotion, marketing and business development, and on the other hand the coordination and supervision of the work carried out at the level of regional agencies.
B- The agency
The agency, hierarchically attached to the General Management, intervenes in local operations on behalf of economic operators.
It has sufficient resources and autonomy to perform all the services entrusted to it by clients, directly or through the central management, and manage relations with the local port authorities.
As mentioned above, the network of own agencies ensures a national presence in the 7 most important commercial ports of the country: Algiers, Bejaia, Djendjen, Skikda, Annaba, Mostaganem and Oran
C- Support departments
The support directorates are those of administration and human resources, finance and information systems.
They are responsible for providing and making available all the means and resources necessary to allow the agencies to operate optimally in supporting the provision of services.
The company also has a QHSE unit, responsible for leading and maintaining the quality management system certified to ISO 9001 V 2008.
